Specialists in Sacrificial Anodes for the Marine Industry
Marine Protection Systems offer zinc and aluminium anodes as well as support services to ensure you have the optimum cathodic protection on your vessel. Sacrificial anodes can protect the ship's hull, shaft line, ballast tanks or any metal structure immersed in salt water from corrosion.
All MPS sacrificial anodes are cast from the highest purity virgin metal with the required alloying agents to meet the following specifications:
  • Zinc Anodes
  • United States Military Specification 18001K
  • Potential of -1.05 V when measured using a Silver/Silver Chloride Reference electrode
  • Current capacity of 780 amp hours/kg

  • Aluminium Anodes
  • Australian Standard AS 2239/2003 A1
  • Potential of -1.10V when measured using a Silver/Silver Chloride Reference electrode
  • Current capacity of 2700 amp hours/kg
  • NOTE: MPS Aluminium anodes have been approved by MAF NZ for use in fish wells.
